[EHFCL] Round 4

GROUP A

The two-time champion of SEHA – Gazprom League, managed to beat one of the best German and European teams, THW Kiel. After Veszprem left for a break with a 3-goal advantage, the Germans threatened to turn over the result in the 2nd half, but the Hungarian side kept fighting until the very last minute and the result remained in their favor (21:19).

GROUP B

Celje Pivovarna Lasko could not keep up with the actual Champion League’s title holders losing 31:23. The 8-goal advantage by Vive Tauron Kielce placed them at the first place of the table, having 100% performance collecting 8 points so far.

PPD Zagreb have continued their losing strike in Champions League, entering the 5th week without a single win. The Belarussian representative of SEHA League, Meshkov Brest, dominated the whole 60 minutes in Zagreb’s Arena, leaving Zagreb with 2 points and a significant 5-goal advantage.

Vardar did not ruin their efficiency but continued their marvelous season performances. The team was sorting things out for the first 15 minutes after which they kept the result on their side for the rest of the match, winning the match against the Hungarian MOL-Pick Szeged 30:27.

GROUP C

In Group C, Tatran Presov was defeated by Elverum Handball by 2 goals (25:27). In a narrow game, the Slovaks tried to tie the match until the very end but did not manage to stop Elverum from outperforming them on Saturday.

The second SEHA representative of the group C – Metalurg – celebrated against Naturhouse La Rioja on Saturday. The home court was obviously a tailwind for Metalurg who left the spectators overwhelmed when the last whistle was blown and brought them the 2 new points with a narrow win of 24:23.
