With the start of the week, started the SEHA action. The first to open the eighth week were NEXE and Meshkov Brest with a clash in Nasice on Monday. The Croatian vice-champions gave their best against seemingly tired Meshkov and succeeded in grabbing their biggest win of the season! With the result of 28:27 NEXE collected another 3 points and climbed up by one place on SEHA table.
PPD Zagreb hosted Tatran Presov on Tuesday. Under the different circumstances, led by the assistant coach Andrija Nikolic after Veselin Vujovic’s sudden resignation, Zagreb boys have managed to keep their heads cold and take the much-needed win. Winning by 5 goals advantage (27:22), the ‘Lions’ are entering the ninth week of the league with 15 points, currently placed second.
The Macedonian runners-up, Metalurg, arrived in Slovenia on Tuesday for the 7th round of SEHA League. The match was played in front of the hundreds of Gorenje supporters where they took a convincing win (23:15) overtaking the fellow citizens’ Celje Pivovarna Lasko position on the table.
For a week closer, Nasice hosted the current leader of the League – so-far undefeated Vardar. In the narrow first half, Vardar were hardly keeping up with the tempo but managed to create a somewhat significant difference leaving for a break with the 5-goal advantage. In continuation, Vardar did not have problems with keeping the result on their side. However, the new points earned with the win of 30:27 came harder than expected.
