Week 10 recap

With the start of our Be 8 player campaign in this big, tenth week of SEHA Gazprom League, having received more than a hundred of your photos showing us what it means to be the real eighth player, the 2016/2017 is now in its full glory! Aside from the amazing matches played this week, Be 8 player spiced it up with many surprises and a few gifts in all of the different cities.

In case you missed the this week’s birthday celebration, don’t worry – Be 8 player makes it a birthday month! The gifts and inescapably great atmosphere will be waiting for you as soon as SEHA League arrives in your city. Another thing you don’t want to miss is our unique contest in honor of our project’s one year birthday, in which you have not only the opportunity to win your favorite team’s jersey but to also eventually get the first-hand experience, winning the tickets to this season’s SEHA FINAL 4 and witnessing the best handball in the region live.

In this week opener in Slovakia on Tuesday, the hosts Tatran Presov did not let the new 3 points escape. Celebrating over Gorenje Velenje with the high 34:30 win, Taran are now only one win away from climbing up the table, which could make them reach the golden mean in this season’s SEHA League standings.

For the second match of the week, Telekom Veszprem faced Meshkov Brest in the famous Veszprem Arena. In the fire atmosphere, Veszprem cruised past Meshkov winning 31:30 in a ’til-the-last-second narrow match. This win has resulted in Veszprem now passing to the second place on the League’s table, which had, until Tuesday’s encounter, belonged to the Belarusians.

In the match played in Skopje, Metalurg have discontinued their losing strike after hosting Izvidjac CO on Tuesday. This +14 win (36:22) catapulted the Macedonian vice-champions to the seventh place on the table, just above Nexe and Tatran Presov, but also Izvidjac who have once again, after their eighth match this season, been left with no points whatsoever.
