After an incredible quarter-final in the EHF Champions League, we now know which four teams will travel to Cologne to fight for the European title. Vardar will be the only team that has appeared at the Final 4, both last year and this year since not one of the French teams (PSG, Nantes, and Montpellier) has made it to Cologne this season. After an incredible match in Skopje, where over 6,000 hearts existed like one, Vardar have finished the business in Hungary and secured the third consecutive trip to Cologne. It was an absolute drama in Pick Szeged’s Arena, but Vardar managed to keep their 8-goal lead from the first leg. 2017 started with a SEHA title in Brest, and finished with a European gold, so the fans will definitely be hoping for an identical result in 2019.
We hope to see many Vardar fans traveling to Germany, to see off the golden generation. A generation that made everyone in Skopje so proud of their team. A generation that proved everyone wrong, time and time again. A generation full of heroes and idols for children all over Europe. Not just children playing handball, but from all sports, because no matter which sport you play, the winner always needs to have the heart of champions, just like Vardar’s players do!
