The 2016/2017 VELUX EHF Champions League officially started on Wednesday in Istanbul where Besiktas Mogaz HT faced ABC Uminho where they opened the season and Besiktas grabbed the first points.

With both SEHA league and EHF Champions League being in operation, the handball days are in their full swing and weeks full of handball matches, analysis and surprises are finally here.

SEHA league members will provide their EHF Champion League’s opening on the weekend, with the first teams to step on the EHFCL court being Meshkov Brest against the actual title holders Kielce, Veszprem facing Flensburg, Celje hosting Zagreb for the Balkan ‘el Clasico’ and to finish off the Saturday’s schedule, Metalurg waiting for Elverum. On Sunday, Vardar are travelling to Sweden for a clash versus Kristianstad, while Tatran will try out their chances against Montepllier.
