In the new week of SEHA – Gazprom League two matches were played in which Telekom Veszprem hosted Celje Pivovarna Lasko for the 12th round and Gorenje Velenje hosted Izvidjac CO in the 5th round of the league.
The current holders of the title hosted their first SEHA home ground match of the season on Tuesday when they played against Celje Pivovarna Lasko. Telekom Veszprem entered the match with an excellent opening, creating a significant advantage in the first 10 minutes. The host won the match 32:25 with Dragan Gajic and Gasper Marguc in the lead roles – Gajic scoring six, Marguc five – all of that topped with Roland Mikler’s brilliant effect of 15 saves.
In debut of their new coach, Gorenje Velenje won against Izvidjac CO 31:24. This way, Borut Plaskan opened the season successfuly, saying that he is going to use all the time that they have for hard trainings. Bosnian champion managed to keep Gorenje’s tempo only for the first 15 minutes after which Gorenje turned the match in their favor with Brumen, Klec and Medved keeping the result on Gorenje’s side until the very last minute.
