Celebrating International Volunteer Day with one of SEHA’s volunteers

Every year on 5th December, the World celebrates volunteers, people who help others willingly or support the causes they believe in. Today we join the World and celebrate all volunteers around the globe, but especially the ones who are a part of our handball family. To mark the day, we have talked to one of the volunteers, who joined SEHA – Gazprom League team during the SEHA Final 4 in Brest, Belarus in 2017.

Elizaveta Romaniuk has shared with us her volunteering experience and revealed which event was her favorite. “I have worked as a volunteer on three events. My favorite was SEHA – Gazprom League Final 4 in Brest, because the organizers were from abroad and it was really interesting for me to see how the events are organized in other countries and how everything works. All the people I worked with were really nice and highly professional, so I was happy that they shared their experience with me.”

Elizaveta volunteered in the press department and she said the event was a great experience for her, as she met a lot of nice people from Belarus and other countries. She added how she learned through her volunteering how to work in a team and share responsibilities. I started volunteering because I wanted to get new experience. Of course, I would recommend it to my friends and to other young people as it’s a great possibility to try and learn something new and to get to know a lot of interesting people. Doing something big together with other people feels really great.”

Every year during the final tournament of the SEHA – Gazprom League, young people have the possibility to become volunteers and be a part of the team which organizes an international handball event. On average, there are more than 70 volunteers at each event, divided into different aspects of the organization, such as entertainment, competition, media, logistics and fan zone.
