Let’s celebrate International Volunteer Day!

Each year we are especially looking forward to 5 December because it’s time to celebrate International Volunteer Day. On this occasion, we remember all dedicated volunteers who unselfishly spend their time helping and improving different handball events. According to that, we talked to Zara and Mia who were part of the SEHA Final 4 2022 in Zadar. If you are having second thoughts about volunteering, make sure to read their impressions which are really inspiring. After the event has ended and their „job“ was done, Zara and Mia became friends and that is the real beauty of volunteering – bringing people together!

MIA BATISTIC-SIMUNIC

”I was so excited because it was my first time ever to volunteer and it happened to be on a special sports event which required a lot of responsibility. Although I am in sports since childhood, for me this was a different experience. I hope that I will have the chance to volunteer at similar events in the future also.”

ZARA VALCIC

”I signed up for volunteering together with a friend, but, we didn’t get the same roles and tasks. I worked with two girls – Marta and Mia. They just started playing handball so we met before. It was very entertaining to volunteer because I got a fun role and it was interesting to communicate with people from different countries. I volunteered for the first time in my life and loved it. We had a lot of fun in the #be8player corner, but there were also a lot of tasks. I got close to Marta and Mia and we are good friends now. I even got some signatures from handball players and a chance to watch my two great teams PPD Zagreb and Nexe on the court. As soon as there will be the next opportunity to volunteer,  I will apply because it is an amazing experience.”
